The two primary goals of adolescence are:
1. Individuation from parents (rejecting all things from childhood, which includes their parents, unfortunately)
2. Identity formation (figuring out who they want to be in the world)
Achieving these goals can take years, and the period of adolescence is now defined as taking place between ages 12 to 24, but don’t get discouraged. I’m here to help. I have years of experience working with the most challenging teenagers.
I offer a free 30-minute in-person consultation, where you can meet me and learn more about my approach to counseling.
